5 Question Friday: Wishes & Trust

Happy Friday! We had a nice week, hope you did as well! I have a co-author of sorts for this post, as my husband is sitting here while I write this...and I can't resist posing these questions to him too!

1. If you could, would you go back to high school?
Never! Okay, maybe if you offered me a gigantic sum of money...and only for a day or two. Ha. Actually, I'd probably just be bored. I've experienced many worse things than memorizing the periodic table of elements or being snubbed in the lunch line by some juvenile queen bee.

Husband's response to this question: "No."
Me: "That's it? No more reflection than that?"
Hubby: "Are you kidding?"

2. If a genie appeared and granted you two wishes, what would they be? (And, no saying "more wishes".)
My husband says..."You set the genie free! Didn't you learn anything from Aladdin?" Snort.
Then, "I want to know what you wished first, because that would effect my wishes."
My response: "No, it's just you in a vacuum wishing."
Husband: "Then I wish to be out of this vacuum!"
Sigh!

I'd try to come up with two big wishes that would impact the most people at once...change the way the world works for the better. Any ideas?

3. What kids show do you secretly like?
It's no secret that I was a huge Scooby Doo fan as a kid, just like my son! But I secretly like to watch "Caillou"...it's simple and soothing. :)

Hubby says Scooby Doo, too.

4. What is your beverage of choice?
Right now, it's coffee for hubby and I! For me...followed closely by tea. I'm such a caffeine addict!

5. What is something that you would change about yourself (or are working to change in yourself)?
I'm working on my attitude...trying to be more relaxed, positive and faithful. Ever look back and realize that things have a way of working out okay in the end? Trusting in God's plan is very freeing.

Husband's response: "My fatness." Ha! He is not fat, by any means...but hitting his teenage weight is probably the only part of high school that he'll ever revisit.

5 Question Friday: Lyrics & Libraries

Happy Friday, dear reader! I was hoping to take the kids for nice adventure at the park today, but I see some ominous clouds out there this morning!

I'm getting back into the swing of some regular blog posts this week...I've just been busy with our new hand-stamped jewelry collection for Fancybelle Boutique. Jewelry-making is addictive, and oh so much fun! But...gotta love these 5 new questions from Mama M, they're quick and irresistible!

1. What was the first car you owned?
A 1989 brown Ford Taurus...your typical 4-door family sedan. My mom gave it to me when I started college and I sold it after the car began a pattern of randomly dying at intersections. I took it to a few mechanics and they told me nothing was wrong (go figure). But YOU try living in fear of every stop sign or red light!

2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?
I don't know about embarrassed, but I sure know a lot of useless song lyrics. How about "Ice Ice Baby"...or "Baby Got Back"...or "Return of the Mack"...or any hit by the Spice Girls. I've got the 90's pretty well covered!

3. Have you ever had stitches?
Yes, but only after surgeries...not accidents. I've had six so far, but not all have required stitches...thank God!

4. What was your first job?
Beyond babysitting? I got my first job with an actual paycheck when I was 15 at my hometown library. I think it paid $4.25, minimum wage. I was a library page...shelving books, helping at the check-out desk, shelving more books. It was the perfect job for the shy girl I was back then...plus, I got to listen to my Walkman the whole time and I wasn't charged overdue fees! Ahhh, the halcyon days of the library...

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
Oh, I totally loved Big Bird! He was adorable...such a sunny personality. :)

Thanks for dropping by today and have a terrific weekend!!

Wordless Wednesday: Fun With Grandpa

Despite the pile of toys in the background, Lucy Belle had more fun playing a prayer card of her Grandpa's during his visit!

Hand-Stamped Jewelry Debuts!

Just a quick announcement about the recent debut of our new hand-stamped personalized name necklace collection at Fancybelle Boutique! We've already made our first online sale and have several more styles on the way in both sterling silver and copper designs.

I say "we" and "our" because this endeavor is partnership between me and my husband, who is a professional metalworker...and quite a meticulous stamper as well. He practiced for hours and hours before making the first test pieces.

Coming yet this weekend to the shop are single initial necklaces (perfect for jewelry minimalists), 2-in-1 necklaces and a gorgeous "Dream" copper butterfly necklace. Can't wait to share photos and news with you!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Feel Good Friday: Crawling & Cuddling

Welcome to my first time joining in on Feel Good Friday, hosted by The Girl Next Door Grows Up! I've chosen to list 5 things that made me really happy this week. No matter how bad or boring you think your week was, I bet you can find 5 things. I sure did...and here they are!

1. My dad made it back from the Philippines "in one piece" (ha!)
My father stopped by for a visit after being in the Philippines for 3 months with his wife's family. What fun stories he had to share about debacles in the airport and adventures in the Dumaguete countryside! Too bad that the Filipino summer heat and humidity didn't agree with Mr. Wisconsinite...he's in no hurry to return, ha.

2. Lucy Belle crawls!
My daughter started crawling EVERYWHERE this week. Last week she was still only crawling backwards and rolling wherever she wanted to go, but now there's no holding her back. She was actually playing with the alphabet magnets on our fridge yesterday! The times, they are a changin'.

3. Only one little person in diapers
Yep, my son has graduated to "undies" and already has his favorite pairs...ha ha. It's been a few weeks already, but it finally dawned on me today how nice it is with just only one child's diapers to deal with. A thing to be celebrated!! The diaper genie is thankful, too.

4. Toasted southern pecan coffee
Can you believe that only 3 years ago I never drank coffee? Now that the caffeine floodgates are open, there's no turning back...I'm addicted! YUM.

5. My dog turned to my almost 3-year-old son in a time of distress
Let's keep it real, my 5-pound longhaired Chihuahua Lia (AKA "Woobie") is no buddy of my son's. He generally terrifies her, unless there's food bribery involved...too noisy, too many sudden movements.

But last night when my husband was loudly testing out some steel stamps for making personalized hand-stamped jewelry for my shop, Fancybelle Boutique, the dog ran straight into my son's arms!

He was so sweet with her...wrapped her up in his favorite blankets and cuddled her until she stopped shaking. Adorable!

Comment Love Letter To You

Dear Readers...

I'm having more fun that I ever imagined reading and replying to comments from my new followers these past few weeks! I really appreciate people taking time to read what I've written, much less write anything back.  : )

So I thought I'd join in on Comment Love Letters via Kerri's Klutter...

Kerri’s Clutter

A fun and often hilarious way to show off the comment love received on posts from the previous week or so.

Welcome to
My Comment Love Letter To You

Dear Bridgette @Fancybelle,

C'mon Mom- Cut it out! Well, maybe one more. I used to have friends like that with the video cam. 3 years daily - who do they think will watch it!

Okay, so you are the second person who loves their Old Navy jeans. Guess I am going to have to head to Old Navy and go shopping! :)

Man! I change my answer to Oprah if I get to be on her Favorite Things episode! ;) And I LOLed at the Dane Cook reference!

At least you can't come up with something for embarassing moment, I would probably have a list. LOL!

I have a love of anything vintage or handmade too. I wish I had a little baby to put those leggings on!! Do you make hats big enough for 3 year olds?

I hope she loved her basket!!! Do you hate the easter grass? I have come to hate it! It is like it multiplies and gets everywhere!!

Sincerely,
Awesome Readers

So...recognize yourself in there anywhere?

Thanks for the smiles, laughter and fun you've given me these past couple of weeks!
